Web Design · Budget & strategy
How much does a professional landing page cost?
A professional landing page can cost less than €1,000 or several thousand euros. The difference rarely comes from the number of sections displayed on the screen.
The budget depends above all on the work necessary to transform an offer into a page capable of convincing: strategy, content, UX, artistic direction, development, integrations, tracking and level of finish.
For a B2B project carried out to measure by a senior freelancer, we can generally think around three budget levels.
These amounts remain orders of magnitude. Two pages that look similar when completed may have required very different amounts of work.
Why do prices vary so much?
Let's take two projects.
Project A
A company already has: a visual identity, texts, illustrations, an overall model, an existing form. She simply wants to create a page dedicated to a campaign.
Project B
A company has a complex offer but does not yet know how to present it, what arguments to put forward, how to prioritize the information, what action to propose, how to reassure prospects, or how to integrate the form into its CRM.
Visually, both projects can produce a page of similar length. The work required upstream, however, has nothing to do with it.
01. The strategy and structure of the page
Before talking about colors, typography or animations, you need to determine what the page should do. For which audience? From what traffic source? With what promise? Toward what action?
For a LinkedIn campaign targeting financial departments, for example, the page will probably not have the same structure as a page intended for people directly searching for a solution on Google.
The work can include analyzing the offer, identifying main arguments, prioritizing content, defining the journey, organizing evidence, handling objections and placing calls to action — all steps that are invisible once the page is finished, but which explain a good part of the price difference between two projects. The more complex the offer, the more important this phase becomes.
02. Content writing
The price also depends on the condition of the contents at the start of the project. There is a big difference between:
On a B2B page, this work may concern:
The hero
Quickly formulate the offer and its interest.
The benefits
Transform technical characteristics into understandable arguments.
The evidence
Choose achievements, references or elements capable of strengthening credibility.
The objections
Identify questions that might prevent a prospect from making contact.
CTAs
Define an action that is sufficiently clear and adapted to the level of commitment requested.
A mission including this editorial work will logically cost more than a simple graphic execution based on finalized content.
03. The design level
A landing page can use an existing template, the design system of the main site, or a graphic direction developed specifically for the campaign. The design time varies greatly depending on the level requested.
The components already exist — you mainly have to assemble them and adapt them to the content.
Lower budget.
The structure and interface are designed specifically for the offer — sections, hierarchy, layout and graphic treatments adapted to the message.
Interim budget.
Specific compositions, illustrations, data visualization, interactions, animations, 3D elements, typographic treatments, visual storytelling.
Higher budget.
04. Development
A Figma model and a page actually put online represent two different services. Development may include:
A relatively simple static page will require less work than a page connected to several marketing tools.
05. The form and integrations
A form can be extremely simple: Name, Email, Message. It can also trigger an entire workflow:
Landing page
Qualification of the prospect
CRM
Assignment to a salesperson
Automatic email
Conversion tracking
HubSpot, Salesforce, Brevo, Calendly or other tools can be involved in the journey. The more the landing page becomes a part of a business system, the more time must be allowed for integration and testing.
06. Animations and interactions
A subtle animation in the hero can take a few tens of minutes. An interactive product demonstration can take several hours or several days. We must therefore distinguish:
Micro-interactions
Hover, apparitions, simple transitions.
Lightweight motion design
Section animations, animated illustrations, short demonstrations.
Interactive experience
Configurator, simulator, dynamic content, scroll storytelling.
Here's a live look at these three levels:
Hover over the button
Triggers on display
Drag the slider
Animations should have a function. Showing a product, explaining how it works or guiding the eye can be relevant. Adding effects everywhere just because the technology allows it increases the budget without necessarily improving the page.
07. Responsive
A professional landing page must function correctly on desktop, tablet and mobile. Responsive sometimes requires much more than a proportional reduction of the desktop model:
This adaptation is part of the design work.
08. Tracking and measuring conversions
When a landing page accompanies a paid campaign, it becomes useful to precisely measure what is happening. You may want to follow:
Depending on the technical environment, this configuration can be very simple or require more extensive intervention.
The design then allows you to work on a measurable path rather than on a general impression.
Three examples of budgets
Case 1: landing page from an existing identity
The company already has its identity, its texts, its visuals and a web infrastructure. The need mainly concerns the design and integration of a page.
€800 to €1,500This may be suitable for a one-off campaign with a well-defined scope.
Case 2: custom-designed B2B landing page
The company has its offer and its identity, but wishes to work on the structure, the hierarchy of arguments, UX, design, responsiveness and integration.
€1,500 to €3,000This is probably the most common case for a B2B landing page that really needs to present an offer in a convincing way.
Case 3: complete acquisition page
The project includes more dimensions: strategic thinking, content restructuring, artistic direction, custom design, development, animations, advanced form, tracking, marketing integrations.
€3,000 to €6,000 or moreThe budget then strongly depends on the complexity of the product and the technical ecosystem.
| Simple | Customized | Advanced acquisition | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strategy | Limited | Included | Included |
| UX | Existing base | Included | Included |
| Custom design | Partial | Included | Included |
| Development | Simple | Included | Advanced |
| Entertainment | Little | Possible | Advances |
| Integrations | Simple | Possible | Included |
| Tracking | Basic | Possible | Advanced |
| Indicative budget | 800–1 500 € | 1 500–3 000 € | 3 000–6 000 €+ |
Can a $500 landing page work?
Yes, in certain situations. If you already have:
- a suitable template;
- a well-constructed identity;
- a clear message;
- of finalized content;
- necessary components;
limited intervention may be sufficient.
The level of investment should therefore depend on the problem to be solved.
What about a €10,000 landing page?
This is also possible. Some pages involve:
In this case, we no longer pay just for the creation of a web page. We are financing a real acquisition system.
The right budget depends above all on the issue
A landing page intended to support a small one-off campaign does not have the same needs as a page used for two years to generate hundreds of leads. The budget must therefore be related to:
A very simple page can fulfill its role perfectly. A complex B2B offer may require more work to become understandable and compelling.
Do you have a B2B landing page project?
I design tailor-made B2B landing pages, from the structuring of information to design and development — the scope is adapted to the project, a simple page when that is enough or a more complete solution when it is necessary to work on the message, the UX, interactions and integrations.
